UNLEASH THE INSTINCT

IMG_8536.jpg

We’re not your regular dog walkers. Our approach goes beyond a simple stroll around the block—we’re focused on improving your dog’s overall quality of life by giving them a healthy outlet for their natural instincts. Whether it’s structured walks, mental stimulation, or purposeful movement, every session is designed to engage your dog both physically and mentally.

We’re the perfect fit for working breeds and high-energy dogs that need more than just exercise—they need a job to do. Every walk is tailored to suit your dog’s unique needs, energy levels, and personality, ensuring they come home fulfilled, balanced, and happy.

With us, your dog doesn’t just get walked—they get an experience that supports their wellbeing.

About Instinct K9 Adventures

Hi, I’m Cora. I’ve always been drawn to understanding how dogs think and finding ways to understand them.  Growing up with dogs and later competing in agility with our family’s Australian Shepherd naturally led me to where I am today.

As an adult, I’ve fostered rescue dogs in Greece and spent the past two years in Australia working full-time with dogs and puppies, focusing on enrichment excercises and in their well being.

Nothing fills me up more than seeing dogs happy, confident, and being their cheeky selves. That’s what drives me to help every dog live a more balanced and fulfilled life.

My mission is to create safe, fulfilling sessions tailored to each dog’s breed, personality, and needs.

Tailored Breed Adventures

Herding Dogs

For herding dogs we focus on structured movement and mental strategy. Our sessions provide the 'job' they crave, combining them with walks or adventures with focus-based exercises that satisfy their intense working drive.

We use specialised herding-style games designed to stimulate the same parts of the brain used in real herding. In early sessions, we teach your dog how to engage with these games using food rewards, or for more play-driven dogs, we introduce flirt poles with high-value toys to build motivation and focus.

Where suitable, and depending on your dog’s physical health and your location, we can also incorporate agility training. Agility is only recommended for dogs without physical health conditions such as hip dysplasia, arthritis and etc, ensuring all activities are safe, appropriate, and enjoyable.

Gun Dogs/ Hounds

Gun dogs and Hounds thrive on environmental engagement. Our gun dog adventures emphasize scent work and off-path exploration, allowing them to follow their noses through diverse terrain, leading to deep biological fulfillment.

For gun dogs and scent-driven breeds, we tap into their natural retrieving and tracking instincts. We use specialised dummies—often made with animal materials commonly used in traditional gun dog training—to engage their senses in a highly rewarding way. Dogs are taught to stay, then use their noses to locate and retrieve hidden items, building focus, patience, and control.

For dogs with higher prey drive, we incorporate flirt poles paired with these dummies, giving them a safe and structured outlet to chase and engage their instincts.

We also offer scent work, starting with simple games like finding treats in grass, and progressing to more advanced scent training using specialised equipment. This teaches dogs to identify and locate specific smells, providing powerful mental stimulation and a clear “job” that helps them feel fulfilled.

Busting The Myth

There’s a common misconception that allowing dogs to “unleash their instincts” can worsen behavioural problems. In reality, providing dogs with healthy, structured outlets for their natural instincts can help reduce frustration, build confidence, and promote a calmer, more balanced mindset. Enrichment activities give dogs an appropriate way to channel their energy and natural drives, leading to improved behaviour and overall wellbeing.

Clear Boundaries

We set firm rules for every adventure, ensuring your dog understands the structure and feels safe in their environment.

Impulse Control

Fun is earned. By including impulse control in every session, dogs learn that big rewards only happen when they stay within boundaries.
